Friday was the last day at my old job. It is funny the plethora of emotions I had about leaving that job. It started two weeks ago when I accepted the new job and I had to turn in my notice. It was easy to write my letter of resignation but it wasn't so easy to give it to my boss. I had it sitting on my desk staring at me and I just couldn't make myself get up and give it to my boss. I was overwrought. My brother called me and told me to just do it! It was easy enough to ignore him. Ems kept writing me texts to do it. They started out encouraging and then they began to get stern. She even tried to bribe me to no avail. She then must of told Z that her tactics were not working because he began to send me some encouraging emails. I tried to suck it up but I was paralyzed in fear. Finally, about 11:30 I worked up the courage to walk into my bosses office but he had already left for lunch. Damn!
I hate disappointing people and I think that was why I was afraid. I knew by leaving it would royally screw my boss as he recently had two other key people leave in his small department of 6. I also knew he wouldn't say anything horrible to me as he is a good person but I was still afraid. Finally at 2pm I walked into his office and handed over my letter. All I said was, "You are not going to like this.". He read over the letter and my fears came to fruition. His face said it all. He was terribly upset and shocked. It made me feel horrible and sad. I spent nine hours a day for the last four years at that job and it was coming to a close.
As the days came and went the sadness lifted and it was replaced by excitement. A new chapter in my life was about to begin. I am going to go to a new job tomorrow and know nothing. It is a scary prospect. I don't know what it will be like and I will have no routine. I am used to my morning routine. I arrive to work at 8:30ish and prepare my morning Cherry Coke Zero and eat my breakfast. I would then read my email and checked my bank balance. This will not happen tomorrow morning.
The good news is that I am not nervous. I know this will be a time where I will need to expect the unexpected. I am looking forward to this new adventure. I hope I will meet some great new people and make some new friends.

Why am I acting like such a dork?
So…do you remember this story I wrote in July? NO? It was where I went to see a production of Anne that highlighted my three nieces. I saw a guy I briefly dated the prior year and I got scared and tried to hide. I wasn’t successful and I ended up talking to him at the very end of the evening.
Guess What? I have to go back there. Damn!!! My niece and nephew are in a ballet production at the same location this weekend. I have to go. Right? I know he will be there. He has a side job recording shows at this theatre.
I know he will be there so I REALLY don’t want to go. Seriously! I have thought of about 1000 excuses as to why I cannot attend either performances and they are all lame. It would hurt the children’s feelings if I didn’t show up. I don’t want to do that but……
The thing is I cannot figure out why? Why do I have such an aversion to seeing this person. I don’t care about him but it still freaks me out.
So I know this is crazy and I should go to the show. But I can think of 10 other horrible things I would rather do than see this guy again.
1. Pick the dead lice out of the children’s hair.
2. Run for an hour.
3. Use the same towel for two weeks
4. Eat only mushrooms for a month.
5. Have my music erased from my iPod and replaced with contemporary Country artists.
6. Have five additional roommates just like the current one.
7. Wear the same clothes for a week.
8. Switch to Diet Pepsi.
9. Only read murder mystery books in 2011.
10. Watch General Hospital every day.
See…this aversion is very strong.
Fine…I will go but I hope little P and S understand the sacrifice I am making for them.

Giant Spider Attack
Ewww…look at that giant spider.
Sunday morning I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth after my shower, when I looked down I saw this GIANT HAIRY SPIDER sitting atop my deodorant. I freaked out. I mean FREAKED OUT. I rushed out of my room to the kitchen to ask (yell) at the roommate for help. I was like, “Please roommate, please come and kill the scary spider”. She gave me a look of disdain and said that she didn’t like spiders either. After a minute or two of coaxing (whining) I got her to agree to come to my room and view the beast. She was anticipating a daddy longlegs, therefore she was surprised and a bit freaked out when she saw the giant arachnid facing us.
During this entire encounter I was only wearing a purple towel and my mouth was full of orange toothpaste as I was afraid to use the sink to rinse my mouth or my toothbrush. It was entirely too close to the beastie.
The roommate finally suggested that we use some bug killer to spray him and the when he was sufficiently dead she would be willing to dispose of the corpse. Calmness entered my body. We had a solution. I happened to have the bottle of bug spray in my bathroom and I sufficiently covered the area inhabited by the spider. He tried to run away, but I wasn’t going to tolerate him roaming the house so I gave him a couple extra douses of poison.
Finally! He was DEAD! Really really Dead!
PS...sorry about the bad photo quality. This is what happens when I know I have a good story but I am also afraid;)
