Random Acts of Kindness
I have a friend whose son received the most generous gift yesterday. VM is in his mid 20’s and is married to a woman from Poland. His wife is going back to Poland next month for the wedding of her best friend and to visit her family. He only receives one week of vacation a year so he didn’t ask for the two weeks necessary to go with his wife as well as they couldn’t financially afford for both of them to get tickets to Poland. So VM boss called his wife and asked her the details about the trip and decided to buy a ticket for him to go for one week with his wife. He presented this $1500 gift to him yesterday and he was just stunned at the extreme generosity and thoughtfulness of this gift. VM works for a small business owner with only three employees. This story makes me feel so good that there are still random acts of kindness and employers can still care about you as a person and not as a work drone.
